Fears and Phobias

There are 2 fears we all have that are built in, the fear of loud noises and the fear of falling. These are protective measures to keep us safe.
All other fears and phobias are learnt. And if they are learnt, they can be unlearnt.
As we have already stated, a fear or phobia usually starts with a minor issue during childhood. It can be picked up from another person, e.g. a parent or sibling, or can be created through an initial event.
Sometimes the object of the fear is not what they think. A fear of flying could actually be a fear of closed spaces, or lack of control.
Also the initial trigger may be completely irrational, for example a child may see his parents having an argument, the shouting makes him scared, and out of the corner of his eye he sees the picture of an aeroplane on a magazine. The link is made and grows into a fear of flying.
Because our work is mostly content free, we do not need to know the initial causes or events.
Often a phobia can be resolved in a very quick session using processes from the Sanomentology program. Occasionally if there is any residue fear left, we can go in with a deeper process depending on the level and depth of the fear.
