The Cold Hard Truth.
It’s freeing, it’s powerful, and yet, we run from it, bury it, twist it to fit our own narratives. We lie to ourselves constantly. We tell ourselves we’re doing things for one reason when, deep down, we know there’s something else driving us. And to others? We package up our truths neatly, make them more palatable, more marketable. It’s just how the world works.
For the past year or so, I’ve been sharpening my marketing, refining my brand, every word, every message designed to be real, authentic, truthful. But let’s be honest, what I show is only a fraction of the whole. Just a piece of the puzzle.
Like so many others in the business of selling coaching, therapy, and change-work, I’ve built my work on the idea of helping others. It’s what we all say, right? “I do this because I want to help.” But let’s stop pretending. Let’s cut through the noble fluff, the sanctimonious bullshit.
There is no such thing as pure altruism. Not in business. Not in life. Every act has an exchange. No one gives you the secrets to success for a few dollars unless they’re making thousands selling it to others. The people selling you life’s answers? They’re not doing it out of kindness. They want something, money, attention, validation. Maybe it’s fear, maybe it’s a need to prove something, maybe it’s filling some deep-rooted hole they’ve carried for years. No one does anything for nothing. There is always a trade, whether it’s cash, recognition, or just the satisfaction of being seen.
And once you accept that? That’s where freedom starts.
So, why do I do this?
Let’s be straight, I want money. But not just for the sake of having money. I want freedom. I want choice. I want to craft a life that excites me, a home that feels mine, a car that makes me smile when I drive it, experiences and adventures that fuel me. And yeah, I want someone to share it all with. That takes money, so money is the goal.
But beyond that? I crave knowledge. I’ve always had that drive to understand how things work, why things break, how problems can be solved. Whether it’s fixing something around the house, finding the cracks in a system, or piecing together how people tick, my brain works in solutions.
So, I pulled it all together, my need for freedom, my hunger for knowledge, my instinct for solving problems, and I created an idea for a business. To use these skills to create something I could sell to other people. This creation is the program I call Sanomentology. The goal? To help others find their own freedom. But let’s not lie, I built it to free myself first.
That’s the truth that most people won’t say out loud.
But it goes further than that. And that’s where passion, purpose, and truth merge beyond the influence of ego and perception. But that’s for another post.
So now, I ask you, what’s your truth?
