Are You a Guide… or Just Jiminy Cricket?

There’s a huge misunderstanding in therapy and transformation work.
One that’s rarely acknowledged.
Rarely addressed.
But quietly holds back true healing.

The confusion between consciousness and conscience.

Consciousness is something nearly everything has.
From bacteria to elephants, trees to humans. It’s the awareness of surroundings and the ability to respond. It’s what drives survival and evolution.

Some scientists even believe particles have it too, a view called panpsychism.
That’s my view as well.
Consciousness is the root of everything.

But conscience? That’s a different story.

Conscience is our moral compass, a rare trait found mostly in beings with complex social intelligence.

A tree doesn’t have conscience. It “knows” where the sun is… but doesn’t feel bad about blocking its neighbor’s light.

Most therapies work with conscience. They guide, suggest, remind.
Like Jiminy Cricket on your shoulder.

And yes, it helps.
But if conscience is the seed, then consciousness is the soil.

Real growth only happens when both are nurtured.

But here’s the trap…
When therapy works only on conscience, it elevates self-awareness
…but often in a way that becomes toxic.

The more refined our conscience gets, the more likely we are to slip into moral superiority.

Greater self-awareness doesn’t always mean growth.
It can also breed arrogance.

When Self-Awareness Leads to Growth:

  • You see your strengths and weaknesses
  • You act with humility
  • You invite feedback
  • You grow in empathy

When Self-Awareness Breeds Arrogance:

  • You fixate on how “evolved” you are
  • You moralise and judge
  • You mistake insight for entitlement
  • You shine your self-awareness like a spotlight—blinding others

Self-awareness is a mirror. Arrogance is a spotlight.
One helps others see themselves.
The other tries to outshine and blind them.

And here’s another twist:
Science has no provable theory of consciousness.
It’s subjective.
Personal.
So psychology? Still stuck in outdated materialism.

They talk about the conscious and unconscious…
But it’s more noise than clarity.

During the creation of Sanomentology I went back to the drawing board in terms of consciousness. I wanted a model that was based on modern science and answered all of the questions surrounding emotions, existence, and who we are.

I formulated a model that worked with the theories of string theory, split into 11 dimensions and 3 levels. This is explained in more detail on the website and covered fully.in training. But in a nutshell we have:

1️⃣ Abstract Consciousness – logic, reason

2️⃣ Existential Consciousness – survival, emotion

3️⃣ Noumenal Consciousness – the eternal YOU, the universal thread

When these misalign, tension forms.
Misalignment = “negative” emotions → change
Alignment = “positive” emotions → growth

Most issues, pain, anxiety, fear, stress come from misalignment.
Most stagnation, boredom, dissatisfaction, comes from ignored alignment.

And most therapies?
They only work at one level.
For example, CBT focuses on the abstract.
Hypnotherapy hits the existential.
Almost no method works across all three.

Until now.

Sanomentology begins with the mind, then opens the dream.
Starting with a process I call Mind Mediation, we address the abstract and partially affect the existential. Then we cross the full scope with Dream Architecture.

Because dreams are the doorway.
And not just while sleeping. Dream states can be consciously created.

In those states, the walls between your levels dissolve.
Your own consciousness does the work.
Gently. Subtly. Completely.

Clients shift so deeply, they forget what their life looked like before.
Only others notice the change.
And that’s when you know:
The soil has been restored.

So I’ll ask you again…

Are you a guide… or merely Jiminy Cricket?
Do you shine a spotlight from the shoulder?
Or help someone root themselves deeply in who they are?

Because healing doesn’t come from correction.
It comes from alignment.
